This includes modern drug management, the emphasis on the physical and chemical state of the brain, as well as the entire system of classification of mental disorders in DSM-IV and will soon appear in DSM Strangely enough, my colleagues don't like being told they are not practicing a scientific form of psychiatry. The long-awaited final installment of the Biocognitive Model Series Humanizing Psychiatrists is the third of a series directed at developing the Biocognitive Model of Psychiatry as the replacement for the three nineteenth century models of mental disorder, psychoanalysis, behaviorism and biological psychiatry.

He argues that phenomenology is a valuable technique but can never form a genuine theory.
